                                     Cancellation Policy
To minimize cancellations that are so last-minute that other patients can't take advantage of an opening, a full 48 hours notice must be given for a cancelled appointment.  This means that a 2pm Wednesday appointment must be cancelled before 2pm Monday. If less than 48 hours notice is given for a cancelled appointment and I am unable to fill your appointment slot, you (not your insurance company) will be billed the full amount.

  The only exception to this rule is a regional snow emergency.  All cancellations due to illness, injuries, child care issues, transportation problems, or work emergencies are included under this policy. 
                        
                                       Late Arrival Policy
 
All appointments must end on time.  If you are seen for any portion of the scheduled visit you will be charged the full fee for the appointment as it was originally scheduled.
                                      
                                         Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time of each visit.  Fees for services will be discussed prior to the first visit.  At this time the only accepted methods of payment are cash and checks.  We are in the process of making arrangments to accept credit cards soon.  There is a $25 fee for returned checks.  You are responsible for all fees charged, including collection fees when applicable. 

                                                               
Emergency Contact Policy 
Please contact me at the office number for questions regarding appointments, scheduling, or billing issues; you may leave a message anytime.  Most calls are returned the same day and messages are checked evenings and weekends.  If you have a clinical emergency or urgent problem, you may contact me on my cell phone at (301) 943-6786.  Please be aware that I may be in session with another patient and it may take up to 2 hours to return your call.  If the issue cannot wait that long call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. 

                             Telephone/Paperwork Policy
Telephone contact is an important part of my practice and I strive to be available to my patients at all times.  On occasion a matter may arise which requires a phone call of significant length.  For these calls I do bill a prorated fee in 10 minute increments of the hourly rate. Brief calls to change an appointment or request a medication refill are not charged.
        In addition, any time spent in preparation of documents for insurance companies, legal matters, disability paperwork, etc. will also be billed in 10 minute increments at the prorated hourly rate.
